We’re offering 200 young people the chance to join our Y7 #AtTheTable Ambassador Network.
Our #AtTheTable Ambassadors will play a key role in getting Britain talking about the big issues that young people want to see G7 leaders take action on, and the impact that would have on their and their communities’ lives.
What is the Y7 National #AtTheTable Conversation?
The Y7 will be hosted from 12 - 15 May 2021, one month ahead of the G7 Leaders Summit (11 - 13 June 2021). The Y7 is an incredible opportunity for young people to be #AtTheTable with world leaders, presenting their views and voice to deliver global change.
However, most young people don’t even know the G7 exists, let alone the Y7. They’re missing out on this incredible opportunity to have the youth voice heard at the highest level of decision making.
For that reason, throughout April we are hosting the National #AtTheTable Conversation. The purpose of the National Conversation is to get as many young people as possible talking about the four core topics of the Y7 (Climate and the Environment, Digital and Technology, Economy and Health) ahead of this so so that we can:
Raise awareness of the G7/Y7 so young people understand more about these important international events and why they matter!
Hear the big issues U.K youth want the G7 to take action on - we’ll share your stories with G7 leaders, diplomats and decision makers throughout the G7 process through videos, social media and articles
Deliver a lasting legacy to the G7/Y7 2021. We want to equip young people with the skills they need to host meaningful conversations with their peers about the big issues that matter to them, giving them the tools and techniques they need to continue to engage in democratic processes long after the G7 has concluded.
What are #AtTheTable Ambassadors?
#AtTheTable Ambassadors are the core foundations of our National #AtTheTable Conversation. You’ll be responsible for hosting conversations with young people in your community - whether it’s your friends, family, peers, work colleagues, flatmates, neighbours… whoever! You’ll help us ensure that as many young people across the U.K. understand the significance of the G7, and what they want to see world leaders take action on at the G7 in June.
You must be aged 17 - 30 to become a Y7 2021 #AtTheTable Ambassador.
Why should I become a #AtTheTable Ambassador?
As a #AtTheTable Ambassador, you’ll gain:
Core life-skills and confidence in how to host inclusive, insightful and impactful conversations with your peers on important issues - these are crucial skills in any work-related or leadership context;
Access to a suite of learning materials that you can use for any future big conversations you want to have - setting you up with these skills and insights for life;
Support in hosting your conversation with your friends, family, colleagues or peers - through a dedicated Q&A portal and social media support;
A £10 UberEats voucher to thank you for your support after you have hosted at least one #AtTheTable event with your peers*;
The chance for your or your participants’ stories or recommendations to be shared with world leaders and decision makers as part of the Y7 process (if you choose to submit/share videos with us)
The opportunity to win a guaranteed place at the Y7 Summit 14 - 15 May 2021, where you’ll join young leaders from across the world for keynote speeches, inspirational panels and exciting networking opportunities*.

What does it involve?
As a #AtTheTable Ambassador, you’re expected to:
Attend a 1 hour evidence-based, bespoke training session on how to host a #AtTheTable Conversation. Training sessions will be hosted virtually on the following dates:
Tuesday 30 March, 18:00 - 19:00
Thursday 1 April, 19:30 - 20:30
Wednesday 7 April, 19:30 - 20:30
Monday 12 April, 18:00 - 19:00
Wednesday 14 April, 18:00 - 19:00
Wednesday 28 April, 18:00 - 19:00
Commit to delivering at least one #AtTheTable event with your friends, family, community etc during April 2021. Ideally, we’d like Ambassadors to host 2 - 4 events throughout the month.
Complete a feedback form at the end of every #AtTheTable conversation you host, so we can capture the issues you discussed and any learnings.
